I have cruised with carnival and royal Caribbean, and have another RCCl cruise planned for next year. My experience with carnival was a bad one and had turned me off of cruising for awhile. The ship and service were horrible.The food was not great to say the least, and there were no onboard activities, except $20 bingo and port shopping classes. The nightlife was virtually nonexistent. My experience with Royal Caribbean was the total opposite. The ship was clean and well maintained. The crew were very nice and helpful. The food was excellent and had a lot of variety. They also had an abundance of activities ranging from, salsa and ice skating lessons to wine tastings and scrap booking classes. Also the nightlife was excellent. There were parties by the pool, in the lounges and at the nightclub. My problem with RCCl was that there was so much to do I couldnt fit in everything.
