I like the cruise because it’s something you may not do again. You can always find cheap deals to visit Vegas. Have you ever been to Vegas? They have people passing out cards for hookers on the streets, just about every woman there had no bra and was falling out of their shirts, etc, etc, etc. Now, I went with my husband and I’m not saying that was too big of a deal, but if I were on my honeymoon I’d want to make sure I was the only one he was looking at!
Go for Mexico. Vegas is fun, but a little cheezy. Mexico has a real exotic get away feel to it and is a much nicer place to enjoy a romantic time together. Vegas is sensory overload and the place stresses you out.
I live in Vegas and you should do the Mexican Riveria Cruise. My sister and her husband did that for their honeymoon a few years ago and loved it. I don’t consider Vegas a honeymoon destination, maybe a fun long weekend.
You will always be able to find good deals on trips to Vegas besides that it gets really cool here and windy in the winter who wants to walk around the Vegas strip in that kind of weather. Best time to visit Vegas March - May when it is just starting to warm up but not too warm.
Congrats on your engagement and have fun on your honeymoon.
Vegas is fun but it isn’t romantic. And trust me, if you are have a full-on wedding you’ll just want to go somewhere and decompress.
Besides, on a cruise everything is planned for you (which is WONDERFUL after all the wedding planning). At Vegas, you’ll have to decide each day where to eat, what to do, etc. etc. etc.
Save Vegas for your 1 year anniversary, or when you get to that stage of married life when you need to spice things up.
I agree that the Mexico cruise would be a great choice….although Christmas may be the high season.
Be sure to look into registering for your honeymoon to help with the cost. It’s a popular thing to do now and it kind of like registering for dishes at a department store. You sign up for things you want to do on your honeymoon and friends purchase the things they want to give you. Learn more at
Viva Las Vegas! You could be in France, Italy, New York, and still be in Las Vegas. There are hotels in most price ranges, the food is great, but find out if the shows are open over Christmas. There are scenic tours over and to the Grand Canyon, and out to the dam. There are tours past celeb homes, and don’t miss Mrs. M’s candy factory tour and gift shop, and Liberace’s museum. There are aquariums, tigers, and outlet shopping malls[I love the Waterford outlet store].
Sorry, but I do not agree with the answerer above, I think Vegas is very romantic! A ride on a gondola? Can’t beat it.
And the hookers are not passing out handbills in front of the nice hotels. We rode on the trolley to get to other hotels, and there was a just married couple on it, they were so cute, and talking to all us middle aged ladies about their trip, and they held hands the whole way.
And there are some very nice rooms available, and some very cheap ones, too.
Definately the cruise. Far more romantic. Oh and I’d check out Not only do they have competative pries but they also offer a Honeymoon Registry. You can pick from existing templates or design your own registry and your friends and loved ones can contribute to your honeymoon as a wedding gift. I mean how many toasters does one couple need?
